▪️Summary:
I was surprised when I learned that this is Ashley’s debut novel because it was SO. GOOD. This was my first baseball romance book and as a casual baseball fan, I loved it. The main Tropes were fake dating, brother’s friend, and grumpy x sunshine and I thought all of them were well done and not done in a cringe-y way. The MC’s friends even acknowledged that fake dating doesn’t work and always turns into real dating! Overall I enjoyed every moment of reading this book and couldn’t wait to go back to reading it every day.

▪️Characters & Story:
There was enough of a story to keep me interested even though nothing super dramatic happened. Overall it was a sweet and lighthearted read. I loved both of the MCs and I think Knox might be my first “book boyfriend”! I love a guy who is secretly a sweetie and romantic, but also a little dirty in the bedroom. Both of the MCs had insecurities from past relationships and overcame them together. I loved the witty/flirty banter between the two and I also loved getting to know their friends and teammates.

▪️Spicy Scenes:
For me the book was a bit of a slow burn: the spice didn’t start until around 50%, but it got really spicy after that! There was a lot of sexual tension in the beginning which made the slower burn manageable for me because it was still exciting and had me wanting to keep reading. Once they gave into their desires, things got very physical very fast, and there was a good amount of dirty talk and variety in the spicy scenes!
